Honorable Mention But I Don’t Complain M. Kathryn Black The television mumbles on the floor below. I’ve woken from a dream of travel to the south and know that all my measured steps must be slow. Rough circumstance has jailed me in my own home. I wander through rooms of ornament, Orientalia, baubles, boxes of jewelry and rolls of Kodachrome that have never been developed, so the photos hide. The windows are small and dusty; the drapes emit no light. If Spring is coming it won’t get inside. I yearn to go to Italy or visit old Kyoto in Japan, take a long ship over oceans, watch the sun illuminate. I get a check from the government, do the best I can.
